Timefully on Android

Timefully is now available on Android devices via Google Play. This guide covers everything specific to the Android version: installation, Health Connect, subscriptions, and how the Android experience compares to iOS.

Installing Timefully on Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone.
  2. Search for Timefully or use the direct link from our website.
  3. Tap Install and wait for the download to complete.
  4. Tap Open to launch the app, or find the Timefully icon on your home screen.

Requirements: Timefully for Android supports phones running a recent version of Android. If your device cannot install the app from Google Play, your Android version may be below our minimum supported version.

First Launch on Android

When you open Timefully for the first time, you'll see the same calm onboarding flow as on iOS:

  1. Welcome screen – A short introduction to the app.
  2. Practice type – Choose meditation, breathing, or mindfulness.
  3. Frequency goals – Set how often you want to practice.

The choices are stored locally and personalize your home screen and statistics. You can change them later in Settings.

Health Connect Integration

On Android, Timefully integrates with Health Connect — Google's unified health data layer — so your meditation minutes can be shared with other health apps you trust.

To enable Health Connect:

  1. Make sure Health Connect is installed on your phone (it ships built-in on most recent Android versions; otherwise, install it from the Play Store).
  2. In Timefully, open Settings and tap Health Connect.
  3. Grant Timefully permission to write Mindful Minutes and any other categories you want to share.

After setup, completed sessions will be logged to Health Connect automatically.

Privacy: Timefully only writes the categories you explicitly grant. We never read other categories from Health Connect unless we ask, and we explain why before requesting access.

Subscriptions and Refunds

Timefully Pro on Android is purchased and managed through Google Play, not the App Store. Pricing is the same as iOS — $2.99/month, $11.99/year, or $24.99 lifetime.

To manage your subscription:

  • Open the Google Play Store app.
  • Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  • Select Timefully to view, change, or cancel.

Or open Google Play Subscriptions directly in a browser while signed into the same Google Account.

To request a refund, follow Google's instructions at Google Play Order History. Refunds for Play Store purchases are processed by Google, not by Timefully.

What's the Same as iOS

The core meditation timer experience is the same on both platforms:

  • The timer itself, with segment-based sessions and accurate timing.
  • The full bell library, with the same volume and fade controls.
  • Mood tracking, notes, and the post-session reflection wheel.
  • Tree growth, achievements, and streaks.
  • Statistics, charts, and AI-assisted insights.
  • Free tier with no account required, identical Pro pricing.

What's Different on Android

A few features remain iOS-only at launch — we are honest about this rather than faking parity:

  • Apple Watch. The full Watch app, haptic bells, and HR/HRV tracking are part of the Apple ecosystem.
  • iCloud sync. iCloud is iOS/macOS-only. Cross-platform sync (iOS ⇄ Android) is something we are exploring but have not shipped.
  • Mac and iPad. The native iPad and Mac surfaces are part of the Apple build.
  • Live Activities, Siri, and Home Screen widgets. These remain iOS-platform features.

We are actively working on Android-specific surfaces — Wear OS support, Android widgets, and a more universal sync layer are on the roadmap.

Restoring Purchases on a New Android Phone

If you switch Android devices:

  1. Install Timefully from Google Play on the new device.
  2. Sign in with the same Google Account that purchased Timefully Pro.
  3. Open Timefully and go to Settings → Restore Purchases (or simply launch the app — Play Store usually restores automatically).

Your Pro subscription will be recognized within a few seconds.
