Apple Watch
Timefully brings your meditation practice to your wrist. Run timers, track heart rate and HRV, and enjoy haptic bells for silent practice—all from your Apple Watch. This guide covers setup and every Watch-specific feature.
Setting Up the Watch App
- Install Timefully on your iPhone (the Watch app installs automatically when both devices are paired).
- Open the Timefully app on your Apple Watch.
- On first launch, the app will sync your presets and settings from your iPhone.
- Ensure your Watch is connected to your iPhone or Wi‑Fi for the initial sync.
Tip: Keep the iPhone app updated; Watch features depend on the latest iPhone version.
Running a Timer on Watch
- Open Timefully on your Watch.
- Swipe or scroll to select a preset (or use the default).
- Tap Start to begin your session.
- The timer displays on your Watch face. You can raise your wrist to check progress without touching the screen.
- Tap Pause to pause, or End to finish early.
Always-On Display Support
If your Watch has Always-On Display, the timer remains visible on your wrist even when your arm is lowered. This helps you stay present without constantly raising your wrist.
Heart Rate and HRV Tracking
Timefully can record your heart rate and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) during meditation:
- Heart rate: Shown in real time during the session. Useful for observing how your body responds to practice.
- HRV: Heart Rate Variability reflects your nervous system state. Higher HRV often indicates better recovery and relaxation.
To enable:
- Open Timefully on your iPhone.
- Go to Settings > Apple Watch > Health (or similar).
- Turn on Heart Rate and HRV tracking for meditation sessions.
Data is stored in the app and can sync to Apple Health if you have that integration enabled.
Complications for Watch Faces
Add Timefully to your Watch face for quick access:
- Long-press your Watch face and tap Edit.
- Tap a complication slot (e.g., corner or center).
- Scroll to Timefully and select it.
- Tap the complication to choose what it shows (e.g., last session, quick start).
- Press the Digital Crown to save.
Haptic Bells for Silent Practice
Perfect for meditation without sound:
- In Timefully on your iPhone, go to Settings > Bells & Sounds.
- Enable Haptic Bells and set your interval (e.g., every 5 minutes).
- On Watch, haptic taps will replace audio bells during sessions.
Note: Ensure your Watch is not in Silent Mode if you want both haptics and sound, or use haptics only for fully silent practice.
Workout Mode for Unlimited Duration
For longer sessions (e.g., retreats or extended sits):
- Start a meditation session on your Watch.
- Timefully can use Workout mode to keep the session running beyond the usual app limits.
- This helps preserve battery and allows sessions of any length.
Check Settings > Apple Watch in the iPhone app for the Workout mode option.
