iCloud Sync

Keep your meditation data in sync across your iPhone, iPad, and other devices. Timefully uses iCloud to sync sessions, presets, settings, and more—so you can start on one device and pick up on another. This guide covers setup, troubleshooting, and advanced sync options.

Enabling iCloud Sync

  1. Open Timefully and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to iCloud Sync and tap the toggle to enable it.
  3. Sign in with your Apple ID if prompted (via Settings > [Your Name] on your device).
  4. Grant iCloud Drive access when asked.

Tip: Ensure you have enough iCloud storage. Timefully's data is small, but a full iCloud account helps avoid sync failures.

What Data Syncs Across Devices

Timefully syncs the following via iCloud:

  • Meditation sessions: All completed sessions with duration, date, preset, and notes.
  • Presets: Your custom timer presets and segment configurations.
  • Settings: Reminders, bell preferences, and app preferences.
  • Statistics: Streaks, totals, and progress data.
  • Profiles: If you use profiles, each profile's data syncs separately.

Note: Data syncs automatically when devices are connected to Wi‑Fi or cellular. Changes may take a few seconds to a few minutes to appear on other devices.

Troubleshooting Sync Issues

If data isn't syncing:

  1. Check connectivity: Both devices need Wi‑Fi or cellular. Ensure neither is in Airplane Mode.
  2. Same Apple ID: All devices must use the same Apple ID. Go to Settings > [Your Name] to verify.
  3. iCloud Drive: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud and ensure iCloud Drive is on. Check that you have available storage.
  4. Timefully sync toggle: In Timefully Settings, turn iCloud sync off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it on again.
  5. Manual refresh: Open Timefully on each device and leave it open for 1–2 minutes. This can trigger a sync.

Sync Diagnostics

Timefully includes a sync status indicator:

  1. Go to Settings > iCloud Sync.
  2. Look for Last synced or a status message.
  3. If you see an error, tap Sync Now (if available) or try the troubleshooting steps above.

Restoring from iCloud Backup

If you reinstall Timefully or get a new device:

  1. Install Timefully from the App Store.
  2. Sign in with the same Apple ID you used before.
  3. Enable iCloud sync in Settings > iCloud Sync.
  4. Wait a few minutes for data to download. Your sessions and presets should reappear.

Note: If data doesn't restore, ensure your previous device had iCloud sync enabled and had synced recently. iCloud backups (device backups) are separate from app-level sync—Timefully uses its own iCloud container for real-time sync.
