Shortcuts & Siri

Start your meditation with a voice command or a single tap. Timefully integrates with Siri and the Shortcuts app so you can launch sessions hands-free, automate your practice, and customize your workflow. This guide covers setup and advanced automation options.

Setting Up Siri Shortcuts

  1. Open Timefully and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to Shortcuts & Siri and tap Add to Siri.
  3. Choose a preset (or "Default") and tap Record.
  4. Say your phrase—e.g., "Hey Siri, start meditation" or "Hey Siri, begin my morning sit."
  5. Tap Done to save the shortcut.

Tip: Create multiple shortcuts for different presets: "Start 5-minute meditation," "Start evening wind-down," etc.

Creating Automations in Shortcuts

Use the Shortcuts app to trigger Timefully automatically:

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Automation (bottom tab) and tap + to create a new automation.
  3. Choose a trigger:
    • Time of Day: e.g., "At 7:00 AM every weekday."
    • Alarm: When a specific alarm goes off.
    • Sleep: When you start or end Wind Down.
    • Location: When you arrive or leave a place.
  4. Add the Run Shortcut action and select your Timefully shortcut.
  5. Disable Ask Before Running if you want it to run automatically.

Do Not Disturb Integration

To start meditation when entering Focus mode:

  1. Create an automation with trigger Focus > Do Not Disturb (or a custom Focus).
  2. Add Run Shortcut and select your Timefully shortcut.
  3. Optionally add Set Volume and Set Brightness to dim the screen and lower volume.

Volume and Brightness Adjustments

For a distraction-free start:

  1. In your Shortcuts automation, add Set Volume (e.g., 30%) before running Timefully.
  2. Add Set Brightness (e.g., 20%) to reduce screen glare.
  3. After the meditation shortcut, add Set Volume and Set Brightness back to restore your previous settings.

Action Button Support (iPhone 15 Pro+)

On iPhone 15 Pro and later, you can assign Timefully to the Action Button:

  1. Go to Settings > Action Button.
  2. Choose Shortcut.
  3. Select your Timefully shortcut (e.g., "Start meditation").
  4. Press and hold the Action Button to launch your session instantly.

Note: The Action Button can also trigger Shortcuts automations—combine it with a quick meditation preset for one-press access.
